    Grundarfjorour 40 minutes

    Grundarfjörður is a small town located on the north coast of the Snæfellsnes peninsula It has a rich history dating back to the Viking Age and was an important center for trade and fishing. Travelers will drive to 2 hours & 30 minutes with scenic views Geologically, Grundarfjörður is situated near the Snæfellsjökull volcano, which is famous for its role in Jules Verne's "Journey to the Center of the Earth." The area is also home to unique rock formations and stunning coastal cliffs. Travellers should visit because of the breathtaking natural beauty of the area, including the iconic mountain Kirkjufell, which is a popular spot for photography.     Djupalonssandur Beach 40 minutes

    Djúpalónssandur The beach is famous for its rugged & dramatic beauty, as well as its fascinating history. In the past, Djúpalónssandur was a popular fishing spot for local Icelanders. The beach was also used as a testing ground for fishermen to prove their strength and ability to work on the boats. The fishermen would lift four large stones, with weights ranging from 23kg to 155kg, to show their strength. These stones, known as the "Lifting Stones," are still on the beach today and visitors can try to lift them as well. Travellers will drive 60 minutes , visitors to Djúpalónssandur can also explore the beach's other unique features. The black pebbles that cover the beach were formed by volcanic activity, and the beach also boasts impressive rock formations and sea cliffs. One of the most iconic rock formations on Djúpalónssandur is the "Drangurinn" or "The Rock." This towering rock formation rises out of the ocean just off the coast of the beach & is a popular spot for photography.

    Lóndrangar Basalt Cliffs are located on the Snæfellsnes Peninsula These unique cliffs are a geological wonder, formed from solidified lava that has been eroded over time by the powerful waves of the Atlantic Ocean. You will drive 10 minutes The two towering cliffs, which reach heights of over 70 meters, were once part of a larger volcanic crater that was gradually worn away by the sea. What remains are these striking pillars of basalt, with their distinctive pointed tops. Icelandic folklore, the cliffs were once home to a pair of trolls who had been turned to stone by the rising sun. The site has also been used as a navigational aid for seafarers for centuries. Visitors can enjoy stunning views of the surrounding landscape, including the nearby Snæfellsjökull glacier. The area is also home to a variety of birdlife, including kittiwakes, fulmars, & guillemots. The history of Búðir dates back to the settlement of Iceland in the 9th and 10th centuries, & the village is surrounded by ancient lava fields & rugged coastline. In the 16th and 17th centuries, Búðir was an important center of trade & commerce, with ships from all over the world stopping at its harbor.Visitors can explore the area on foot, by bike, or on horseback, the black sand beach, which is known for its dramatic beauty & stunning views of the Atlantic Ocean. Visitors can also explore the nearby Búðahraun lava field, which is home to a variety of unique plant & animal species. Búðir is also known for its rich cultural heritage. The village is home to the historic Búðakirkja church, which dates back to the 18th century & is one of the oldest buildings in Iceland.
