    Reykjavik 15 minutes

    This is a private bespoke 6 hour Reykjanes Peninsula Driving Tour. You are in control of where we go, but we have some of the highlights of the Reykjanes Peninsula lined up for you to enjoy. Please tell your Expert guide from Your Friend In Reykjavik, what you want to explore and what you are excited about. Do you want to enjoy nature and spending most of the time looking at the most spectacular views or also Indulge in the best, food, pastry or sweets Reykjanes has to offer.     Bessastadir 25 minutes

    Our usual first stop is the Bessastaðakirkja church, which was originally built in the 12th century and is one of the oldest churches in Iceland. This beautiful church is located on a hill overlooking the nearby sea and offers stunning views of the surrounding countryside.

    Kleifarvatn Lake Pass by

    Next, we'll drive past the Kleifarvatn Lake, which is the largest lake on the Reykjanes Peninsula. The lake is surrounded by mountains and is known for its deep, dark waters, which make it a popular spot for fishing and hiking

    Stop 30 minutes

    Our next stop is the Seltún Geothermal area, which is a unique geological wonder. Here, you can see bubbling mud pools, steam vents, and colorful hot springs.

    Stop 50 minutes

    We can optionally take a walking tour to the new smoking lava field at Fagradalsfjall volcano. Please keep in mind it's an hour trek and you need proper walking shoes and clothing for this experience.

    Reykjanes Peninsula 30 minutes

    We drive of course the scenic route between these highlights. Through the moonlike landscape with Craters, lava and green moss

    Grindavik 45 minutes

    After visiting Seltún, we'll head to the nearby town of Grindavík, which is known for its fishing industry and charming harbor. Here, you'll have the opportunity to sample some of the local food or explore the town's historic buildings.

    Reykjanes Lighthouse 20 minutes

    We'll then head to the Reykjanes lighthouse, which is located on the southwestern tip of the peninsula. The lighthouse offers stunning views of the ocean and is a great spot for taking photos.

    A short distance from the Reykjanes Lighthouse we have the a replica of the Red Keyboards that were used in the Eurovision movie with Will Ferrell and Rachel Adams. Perfect photo opportunity

    Bridge Between Continents 25 minutes

    Next up we'll visit the bridge between continents, which spans the Mid-Atlantic Ridge and connects the North American and Eurasian tectonic plates. This is a unique geological site that offers a fascinating glimpse into the forces that shape our planet.

    Reykjanesbaer 30 minutes

    We'll also make a stop in the charming town of Reykjanes. This historic town is located on the north coast of the peninsula and is known for its rich cultural heritage. There is a Viking museum there, that could be an interesting stop given enough time Here, you can explore the town's picturesque streets, visit the local museums and art galleries, and learn about the town's history and traditions.

    Blue Lagoon 20 minutes

    We can possibly make an extra stop on our way back to admire the Blue waters of the Lagoon and otherworldly sights of the steam coming up from the lavafields.

    Brimketill 20 minutes

    Brimketill is a small, naturally carved pool, by marine erosion, at the lava shore edge west of the town of Grindavík.

    Gunnuhver Hot Springs 30 minutes

    Our next stop is Gunnuhver geysir, which is one of Iceland's most powerful geothermal areas. Here, you can see boiling mud pools and geysers shooting hot water into the air.
