The Kerið crater is a 55m deep crater that was formed during a volcanic eruption around 6,500 years ago.

  3. 3
    Gullfoss Falls 30 minutes

Gullfoss is one of the most beautiful waterfalls in the country, if not the most beautiful. The Hvitá River falls here in two stages into a narrow gorge.

  4. 4
    Site de Geysir 45 minutes

The next stop is at the Haukadalur geothermal area, where the famous geyser is located. The namesake of the springs is rarely active anymore, but you can experience the up to 25 m high eruptions of the Strokkur geyser about every 5 to 10 minutes. The stay is long enough so that you can check out the numerous hot springs and several eruptions of the Strokkurs.

  5. 5
    Bruarfoss Waterfall 15 minutes

Brúarfoss waterfall is famous for its exceptionally vibrant turquoise-blue water color, caused by mineral-rich springs in the river. The water of Brúarfoss falls in several stages over a varied landscape of lava rock, creating a breathtaking panorama.

  6. 6
    Laugarvatn 10 minutes

There are numerous hot springs in and around Lake Laugarvatn. We stop at the lakeshore and see several hot springs, which are also used to bake bread.

  7. 7
    Thingvellir National Park 50 minutes

The last stop is in Þingvellir National Park. The Icelandic parliament Alþing was founded here in 930. The Almannagjá gorge, which was created by continental drift, is explored on foot. We also visit the photogenic Öxarárfoss waterfall.

  8. 8
    Stop 20 minutes

Short stop at the Efsti-Dalur farm, where there is an ice cream factory where ice cream is made from the milk of the farm's own cows. Icelanders love ice cream at any time of the day and you have the opportunity to find out why Icelandic ice cream is so popular.
