Itinerary

1. 1
   Porta San Sebastiano 10 minutes

   Leave Rome's city center in style, passing through the grand San Sebastiano gate in the 3rd century Aurelian Walls.

2. 2
   Appian Way (Via Appia Antica) 15 minutes

   Start discovering the Ancient Appian Way, as it gradually transforms from a nearly anonymous Roman street into a uniquely preserved ancient thoroughfare, today set in the bucolic paradise that is the Appian Way Park.

3. 3
   Catacombe di San Callisto 10 minutes

   In the 4-hour tour, a short pause to contemplate the massive burial underground, resting place to half a million souls. Please note: on Wednesdays, this stop is not included in the 4-hour tour. In the 6-hour tour, a 45-minute guided visit of these 2nd-century catacombs, in all their complexity and mystery! Note: On Wednesdays, the 6-hour tour will visit the Catacombs of San Sebastiano (instead of those of San Callixtus).

   Circus of Maxentius 5 minutes

   Admire the vestiges of an Imperial complex built in the 4th century A.D., consisting of a Villa, a Mausoleum and a Circus (a chariot racetrack venue).

   Mausoleo di Cecilia Metella e Castrum Caetani - Parco Archeologico dell'Appia Antica 5 minutes

   One of the largest and best-preserved buildings on the Appian Way - this 1st century (A.D.) funerary monument was consecrated to the memory of a young girl from a patrician family.

   Villa dei Quintili e Santa Maria Nova - Parco Archeologico dell'Appia Antica 5 minutes

   A sprawling 2nd century private Villa complex that used to belong to two of the richest brothers in Roman Imperial history. THIS STOP IS ONLY INCLUDED IN THE 6-HOUR TOUR.

   Parco degli Acquedotti - Parco Archeologico dell'Appia Antica 15 minutes

   See the colossal aqueducts and hear all about the massive system of underground and arch-borne water supply built for the city of Rome in antiquity.

   Parco Della Caffarella Pass by

   A wonderful 'pocket' of verdant valleys and hills in the suburbs of the Eternal city, the home of large sheep herds that graze on its pastures.

   Terme di Caracalla 5 minutes

   See the incredible Thermal baths of Caracalla from the best vantage point, and hear about the central importance that baths had for the social life of ancient Romans. THIS STOP IS ONLY INCLUDED IN THE 6-HOUR TOUR.

• Please note that approximately 40% of the route of this tour takes place in the city. We ride carefully chosen city streets, but some traffic is unavoidable to connect the Ancient Appian Way Park to the Aqueducts Park. In the remaining 60% of the route (riding in the parks) we encounter no traffic.
• You will cover an area of approximately 17 miles (27km), 60% of which takes place off-road. The difficulty level of this tour is intermediate (difficult with a child seat or child extension mounted on the bicycle).
• Infants under 1 year are not allowed to participate for safety reasons.
• Infants aged 1-4 years travelling on a child seat (with load capacity of up to 49 lbs or 22 kg) come on the tour free of charge
• For children aged 5-8 years a child extension (child streamliner) is provided.
• Children aged 9 and above can autonomously ride on an appropriately sized E-bike.
• Minimum of 4 participants applies (total number of participants on tour). There is a possibility of cancellation after confirmation if there are 3 or less passengers on the tour. In the event of this occurring, you will be offered an alternative for your tour or full refund.
• On Wednesdays, the route includes a deviation, so the tour may last up to half an hour longer (4.5 instead of 4 hours and 6,5 instead of 6 hours). The tours will be 30 minutes longer also in the period January 14 - February 11, 2026
• On Easter Sunday (April 5th, 2026), the Catacombs are closed (therefore, the 6-hour tour will not be running)
• This tour doesn't include any food or drinks; however, the route offers a few possibilities to purchase some food or drinks (which can be consumed during a suitable break).
• Are the tours safe? The answer is: Absolutely! The tours follow carefully planned routes which have limited access to traffic, and some have no traffic at all, meaning you are able to enjoy your ride around the city in total relaxation and safety and you won't have to worry about traffic
• We require that all customers wear a helmet on the tour (provided for free).
• Our bike equipment carries a weight limitation of 300 lbs (136 kg)
• Activity not recommended for travelers not self-confident on a bike.
