Colorado Springs has historically been a city of tourists and travelers. From horses, to coaches, to trains, to trolleys and automobiles, the very first settlers of the town were excited to boast the amazements of the area. They welcomed travelers from far and wide to come and see all of the treasures Colorado Springs had to offer.

Welcome Friends! There is much to see and do! It is my pleasure to host you as we stroll through the streets of Colorado Springs and explore the past, present and future of this great city.

Itinerary

  1. 1
    Stop 10 minutes

Not one, but 3 unique stories lay behind this amazing hotel dating back to the 1800's- grandeur, destruction, restoration... such a tale to tell.

  2. 2
    Acacia Park 10 minutes

What was once a desolate plot of land is now a bustling center piece and a community gathering place. Learn its history... from Victorian era shuffle board to WWII horse shoe pits to modern day political rallies... Acacia Park has seen it all and will do so for many years to come.

  3. 3
    Stop 10 minutes

The Original Opera House (now defunct) was a gathering place of the Victorian Elite. Their opening night production was filled with trouble- continual coughing from the audience and an ending that left patrons disturbed. Find out why...

  4. 4
    Stop 10 minutes

As the brand new city of Colorado Springs was developing, "Busy Corner" became the place to meet up and do business. The upper class came in their Victorian dresses, cameo pins and Bowler hats; farmers showed up in mismatched boots and suspenders. Either way, Busy Corner was the place to do business, shop, gossip and hang around.

  5. 5
    Stop 30 minutes

As one of the oldest buildings in Colorado Springs, the charm & character of this unique eatery can't be beat- its original decorative tin ceiling & creaky wood floor adds to its turn of the century vibe. This is the last stop on our tour. I release you into the quality care of the Jack Quinn staff along with a $5 gift card (good for soda, libations, dessert, etc.) and a free appetizer for your party. Cool off, refresh, grab a meal and enjoy this amazing atmosphere.
