    Billie's childhood home is now a national monument. See the murals and hear the story of her time here in Charm City.

    Eubie Blake National Jazz Institute and Cultural Center 15 minutes · Admission included

    See Eubie's piano and music, hear his story, and tour the gorgeous Ebie Blake Center. Art, murals, a garden, and of course, music.

    Jazz legend Todd Marcus is working with Pastor Harris to revitalize Pennsylvania Avenue. Together they have built an arts center, a public farm, a mediation and meeting center, and housing for women. They are halfway to heaven on building a 300 seat performance space for live Jazz on The Avenue.

    Owner James Hamlin is a veritable encyclopedia of Jazz and Black history in Baltimore. From murals and film clips to books and an ever-evolving timeline Mr. Hamlin serves up more than just delicious Poppay Rolls, he serves up not to be missed history.

    See the controversial statue of Lady Day that almost didn't happen. Created in 1977 by artist James Earl Reid, the plinth was so controversial the Baltimore City Council refused to allow it, even after they voted to approve it. See for yourself the relentless power, beauty, and demand for justice that was and still is Billie Holiday.
